Blogs

Two blogs I have read were Offscreen Central and Entertainment Weekly.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading through Offscreen Central because it discusses subjects I like including movies, and award season talk. I also appreciated that all the voices on this blog are women, since women's voices are often overlooked in the film industry. The organization of each entry is slightly difficult to navigate if you aren’t too sure what you’re looking for. Overall, it’s a great blog to read, as it's fairly informative and relevant to awards season this year.

Entertainment weekly was immediately off putting regarding its layout. It seems too in your face and littered with articles that do not matter. There are too many pictures which makes the blog feel cluttered and tabloid-ish especially when you consider the headlines for each article. The content comes off as more exploitative than informative which is also something I greatly dislike. The only thing I appreciated is the variety of articles and videos.

  1. Entertainment weekly looked like any other site that posts articles but for offscreen central it was different that I got confused looking around but it was nice seeing the different movies with the names of the actors and can be helpful if you want to know a certain person.
